This is a vintage Cottage Ware or Cottageware biscuit barrel or cookie jar which is hand painted in a thatched cottage design by Price Kensington, England from the 1950s with the impressed Ye Olde Cottage.

The cottageware biscuit jar measures 7 inches high by 7 inches wide by 5 inches. It has knobs and a cord handle, which has obviously replaced the original rattan one. Those tend to fall apart, and this works well.

Because cottageware is hand painted, each is different, an expression of the artist, which is why I love them!

The ceramic, hand painted biscuit barrel or cookie jar is in very good used vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only minor age crazing and an excellent, clean, unstained interior, which is rare.

A very fun and decorative piece for your tea table or dinner table.  I love Cottageware, don't you?
